The Story

In pursuit of global expansion, Hismile’s migration to Rakuten Advertising was a strategic move. The brand needed an affiliate network that can provide global support and help extend its reach across Asia-Pacific, the UK and the US. Rakuten helped Hismile expand its publisher portfolio by added a further 36 publishers to the brand’s affiliate program—a staggering increase of 78%. Key new partnerships include Qantas Shopping, Global Savings Group, Love Savings Group, Rakuten Rewards, Afterpay US and Clearpay UK.

The Rakuten affiliate network offers global reach with local expertise in Hismile’s key markets. With just one dedicated Rakuten account manager, Hismile has streamlined its global affiliate program and navigated the complexities of international expansion. This centralised approach has fostered a trusted partnership, allowing Hismile to focus on its core business objectives with confidence and agility. This led to solid quarterly growth of 176%, 76% and 84% in APAC, UK and US respectively.

Advanced tech for advanced strategies

Hismile leveraged Rakuten’s Dynamic Commissioning feature to boost toothpaste sales by offering a higher commission rate for this particular product category. This strategic approach successfully incentivised Rakuten’s publisher partners to promote toothpaste category, driving sales growth for Hismile.

Right placement at the right time

Capitalising on Rakuten’s close ties with key publishers, the team helped Hismile invest in flat fee placements, securing premium exposure opportunities during key shopping dates. This strategy helped increase Hismile’s visibility and reach among potential customers, particularly during peak shopping season.
