About the Brand

Eileen Fisher, Inc. designs sustainable, classic fashion and clothing products for women. Started in 1984 by Eileen Fisher herself, she built her brand by creating simple shapes in beautiful colors and fabrics. Fast forward to 2023, and they continue to thrive through thoughtful design and marketing, capturing new audiences, and sustainability. 

The Story

Eileen Fisher has remained a staple in most women’s closets since their inception in 1984, but they were struggling to capture the younger millennial audience due to its brick-and-mortar presence. They looked to Rakuten Advertising to help develop a prospecting and retargeting campaign to get more qualified leads to their eCommerce store and expand their generational reach. 

The Goal

We wanted to build a strategy that would not only appeal to the millennial woman but also to their loyal brand enthusiasts. Our team was looking to: 

  1. Increase Eileen Fisher’s reach, beyond its retail locations.
  2. Generate an uptick in YoY website traffic and sessions.  
  3. Bring in a significant number of net-new customers.  

The Strategy

Our team suggested Eileen Fisher move to combine their retargeting and prospecting campaigns with Rakuten Advertising. Historically, both were managed by separate agencies, but combining them inhouse created a more efficient and effective strategy.  

The Process

Once we implemented the strategy, we discovered that the Eileen Fisher team would benefit from incorporating Display Advertising in their marketing mix. This allowed them to increase their retargeting pool, leading to more prospects viewing their website.  

The Results

Our display program allowed the Eileen Fisher team to reach their intended audience of millennial women, while also driving more qualified leads to their website.
