About the Brands

Lancôme, founded in 1935, is a French luxury perfume and cosmetics house on a mission to make people happier by making them feel more beautiful and providing the best cosmetics innovation in terms of quality, science and efficacy.

Dealmoon operates the leading social shopping community for Chinese ex-pats worldwide, as well as an e-commerce advisory platform for global consumer brands seeking to reach Chinese-language shoppers.

Strategy

Rakuten Advertising worked with Lancôme and Dealmoon to achieve a partnership that would promote Lancôme’s new Absolue line. Dealmoon had the ideal audience for Lancome and chose Rakuten Advertising’s advanced technology to support the campaign.

Goals

Lancôme wanted to increase conversion on new product launches outside of large promotional periods. They continue to use multi-product promotional offers but excluded Absolue from these promotions.

Their goals were to:

  1. Increase YoY sales for Lancôme
  2. Increase brand awareness of Absolue
  3. Drive sales specifically for Absolue through affiliate marketing

Results

The campaign was extremely successful. In addition to building brand awareness for Dealmoon’s audiences, the partnership resulted in:

Dealmoon jumped to the top performing publisher of the month driving +12% increase in YoY clicks and +314% increase in YoY conversions.

Drove 40% of all sales from the Absolue Serum product launch.
